Everyman Hassled

Good Xmas evening. Seems that Everyman is still being hassled out there. Now I can not pretend that I understand a word people are saying about when they talk of the Everyman as being the poster play for medieval morality plays or mystical plays, but I am kinda partial to it. Why, it was the only play I could remember from my 1970's Western Civilization Course. As a result it was a no brainer to choose it for my epic journey and last great (hopefully only completed) work in puppetry.

So what do I say to those Everyman naysayers. Back off! Don't tick off the guy with spaghetti, guns and questionable morality himself.

I am not alone either. Check out a recent comment on Dr. V's site and see for yourself. I tracked down the reference to the new film of the Everyman. I think I will purchase it to help the cause. The director and producer commented: "I am currently in post production on a film adaptation of Everyman. I spent a year finding amazing actors who bring clarity, humor, and sensitivity to the piece. Rehearsal was extensive and the ten day shoot intense to say the least. I invite you nay-sayers to not only see this production, but seek out other productions before condemning a fascinating play as stiff an boring. Everyman is meant to be performed."

Well said, bravo...I hope he is right. He might have a bunch of medieval scholars and college students waiting to kick his butt outside the theatre...I would cover his back though...damn right!

Anyhow. Here is the trailer site for the film. http://www.trailmovie.com/

Check it out. What do you have to do...its xmas anyhow.
