Decoupage Sunset Scene

So here you have it. After my overnight drying, I have cut out the silhouette of the mountains, then applied some cardboard box strips to the painted muslin, over my first lame attempt at painting the desert scene. I think multi texture will do much better...don't you. then I glued the muslin silhouette to the strips....

Later, I continued to layer the muslin and the cardboard strips to give texture and increasingly a distanced look...

I kept going until I had the final effect..

Time To Start Again

Good evening Caitlin and Sarah. Yeah you two. I have decided that this is my best chance to get an audience. When it really comes down to it, you two are mostly whom I care about and who I would like to have a relationship with. No morbidity here or anything. Just dad wanting to appeal to his daughters somehow. If daughters will not check a father's blog then who will?

Trying to get back to my puppet world. need a world to retreat too and somehow to deal with some of my stress from work and the normal worries of a father. So I will attempt to bore you to tears with my ramblings.

So I had this idea. When I was living in the nurses quarters of the Canton School for Handicapped Children, after I moved out of your grandparents, I was living alone without alot of friends. started to do some decoupage for kicks and giggles. Well, I got this idea, see...my background scrims could use some decoupage effects to make it look more 3-D. Interesting no? anyhow...so I am going to try it out. Not sure how to do it.

Thought that perhaps I would papier mache some muslin, in layers and see what happens. Here is the picture of the first layer, just to keep you informed...thats all.
